Description
Extremely weather-resistant and UV-protective wood finish for treating outdoor wood. Osmo Opaque Stain is breathable and water-repellent. Once dry, the stain is safe for people, animals and plants and is also suitable for children's toys such as play equipment. Osmo Opaque Stain is suitable for almost all outdoor wood such as façades, fences, railings, garden sheds, garden furniture and carports. It is not suitable for terraces and decking. Osmo Opaque Stain dries in just 3 to 4 hours, so the wood can be treated with two coats in one day.
Water-based Opaque Stain
This Osmo stain is water-based, which makes it easy to apply and quick-drying. Despite being water-based, it protects excellently against water and dirt. The stain will not peel or crack. Applying a renovation coat is very easy and requires no sanding.
Sprayable stain
Because Osmo Opaque Stain is water-based, it can be sprayed onto the wood. This is an easy and quick
way of applying the stain. Of course, the product can also be applied with an Osmo microfibre roller or brush.
Available sizes: 0.75 L and 2.5 L
1 L is enough for approx. 16 m² per coat
Please note: Rough, old or wood that has been outside untreated often absorbs more product, so more Osmo Opaque Stain is needed than recommended.
Cloths used to apply or buff off the paint must be rinsed with water because they carry a risk of spontaneous combustion. Always rinse cloths with water before throwing them in the bin.
Tip: always buy a little more product than needed for the recommended square metres, so you can maintain and touch up the surface with the Opaque Stain.
Note: For surfaces already treated with Osmo or another brand or product, always do a test first. For renovation, we always advise applying a maximum of one coat. If more coats are applied, the second coat may not adhere and can easily be scratched off. The FAQ explains how to carry out a test.
Instructions for use
1. Stir well before use.
2. Apply thinly with an Osmo brush or microfibre roller in the direction of the grain on clean, dry wood.
3. Let the first coat dry for 3 to 4 hours with good ventilation.
4. Apply the second coat thinly, in the same way as the first, and let it dry well too.
For renovation, one coat on clean, dry wood is usually sufficient.
