Hardwax-Oil with Anti-Slip

Clear finish for wooden floors and stairs in interiors where higher slip resistance is required. Osmo Hardwax-Oil Anti-Slip uniquely combines the benefits of natural oils and waxes in one product. After treatment, the wooden surface is stain-resistant, water-repellent and hard-wearing. Hardwax-Oil is easy to apply and will not crack, flake or peel after treatment.

Hardwax-Oil variants

There are two variants of Osmo Hardwax-Oil Anti-Slip in our range.

Hardwax-Oil 3088

Hardwax-Oil 3088 Semi-matt stands out with its smooth yet anti-slip surface. This product contains no grains. This version achieves slip resistance class R9.

Hardwax-Oil 3089

Hardwax-Oil 3089 stands out with its high surface grip. Special additives give the dried Hardwax-Oil slip resistance class R11. This Anti-Slip 3089 does contain grains, so it keeps an anti-slip surface for longer.

1. Stir the product well for 2 minutes. After opening the tin, the oil and wax are separated.

2. Always test on the surface first to check that the result has the desired effect.

3. Apply the first coat of Hardwax-Oil thinly with a roller or floor brush to the new or sanded wood. Roll or brush the product out well. Always apply along the planks and the wood grain.

4. Mistakes made during application can be corrected on the wet surface up to 30 minutes afterwards, such as roller marks or brush hairs.

5. Drying of the first coat takes about 8-10 hours (at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity). At lower temperatures or higher humidity, drying takes longer. Always ensure good ventilation, with windows and doors open.

6. Apply the second finishing coat in the same way as the first coat.

7. Drying in approx. 8-10 hours; see point 3.


After treatment with Osmo Hardwax-Oil, it is important to maintain the floor. This ensures you enjoy your wooden floor for longer. Wisch-Fix is the product to mop and clean your wooden floor; we recommend using it weekly or every two weeks. Over time, walkways and frequently used areas of the surface may start to wear. Liquid Wax Cleaner is then ideal to use. The product is suitable for refreshing worn areas.

1 L is enough for approx. 24 m² per coat.

Please note: with use of the floor, the anti-slip layer may decrease, which can make the surface more slippery.

Note: For surfaces already treated with Osmo or another brand or product, always do a test first. For renovation, we always advise applying a maximum of one coat. If more coats are applied, the second coat may not adhere and can easily be scratched off. The FAQ explains how to carry out a test.
