Hardwax-Oil Tints: the best choice for colouring and protecting large surfaces

Hardwax-Oil Tints gives the wood an even colour while keeping the wood structure visible. Hardwax-Oil Tints offers excellent protection against water, beer, wine and other liquids and is suitable for your floor, walls, stairs and ceiling.

Treating a small surface such as a table or chopping board? Then choose Osmo TopOil.

Osmo Hardwax-Oil Tints is suitable for almost all wood species. Treating a tropical wood? Then choose Osmo Clear Wax.

Finishing with Hardwax-Oil Original

Osmo is a two-coat system: the first coat penetrates the wood to protect it from within, so it can keep breathing. The second coat hardens in the upper grain of the wood, creating a protective layer.

Simply treat the first coat of your wooden surface with Osmo Hardwax-Oil Tints to give the wood the colour you want. Apply Osmo Hardwax-Oil Original as the second coat. This prevents colour differences when wear occurs.

Good to know:

1. Stir the product well for 2 minutes. After opening the tin, the oil and wax are separated.

2. Apply the first coat of Hardwax-Oil Tints thinly with a roller or brush to the new or sanded wood.

3. Roll or brush the product out well and make sure every part is covered. You can check this by looking against the light. Always apply along the planks and the wood grain.

4. Apply the second finishing coat thinly with Hardwax-Oil Original Clear, also with the Osmo microfibre roller or a brush.

5. Drying of the first coat takes about 24 hours. At lower temperatures or higher humidity, drying takes longer. Ensure good ventilation by opening windows and doors.

After treatment with Osmo Hardwax-Oil, it is important to maintain the wood well. Wisch-Fix is the product to mop and clean your floor or stairs. It contains a small amount of wax that nourishes the wood. We recommend using it weekly or every two weeks.

Over time, walkways and frequently used areas of the surface may start to wear. Liquid Wax Cleaner is then ideal to use.
