Description

Osmo Natural Oil Stain is a product based on oils and waxes that creates a protected surface after treatment. The surface is then resistant to water, dirt and the sun.

The treatment is ideal for protecting all outdoor wooden surfaces. Think of Afrormosia, Bangkirai, Douglas fir, spruce, teak and larch.

Please note: The minimum application temperature is 10 °C.

Natural Oil Stain colours

There are 19 different Natural Oil Stain colours in total. Hesitating between a few colours? We have samples of every colour, so you can test on a small piece of wood which colour gives the result you want.

The colours relate to the colours of the wood species they are named after. This does not mean they are only intended for that type of wood.

Osmo tip: Natural Oil Stain with colour pigment offers better protection against UV radiation from the sun (greying). The clear variant 701 offers less protection against UV rays.

Treating greyed wood

Has the wood turned grey? Then we recommend first treating it with Osmo Power-Gel Wood Reviver, which brings back the natural colour of the wood. Once dry, the wood can be treated with the Natural Oil Stain of your choice. We advise waiting 24 hours.

Please note:

– Building a new terrace or decking? Then the wood may have a maximum moisture content of 20%.

– Rough, old or wood that has been outside untreated often absorbs more product, so more Natural Oil Stain is needed than recommended. For new wood, we advise letting it weather for at least 4 to 6 weeks first, which makes it more resistant to the outdoor climate. After weathering, the wood can be de-greyed with Osmo Power-Gel Wood Reviver.

The appearance and adhesion of our products may vary by wood species, surface and application method. We therefore recommend testing products on a sample first.

1. Stir the product well for 2 minutes. After opening the tin, the oil and wax are separated.

2. Apply the first coat of Natural Oil Stain with a brush or block brush to the new or sanded wood.

3. Mistakes made during application can be corrected on the wet surface up to 15 minutes afterwards, such as brush hairs.

4. Drying of the first coat takes about 8-12 hours. At lower temperatures or higher humidity, drying takes longer. Are the surfaces treated indoors first? Then always ensure good ventilation by opening windows and doors.

5. Apply the second coat in the same way as the first coat.

6. Drying in approx. 8-12 hours; see point 4.

After treatment with Osmo Natural Oil Stain, it is important to maintain the wood well. Osmo Decking Cleaner is the product to clean your terrace, decking or fence. We recommend using it in spring and autumn.
