Description
Osmo Spray Wax is the sprayable version of Osmo Hardwax-Oil. This highly effective oil and wax combination is easy to use on all indoor wood species, such as walls, ceilings, stairs, furniture, worktops and table tops. Spray Wax is easy to apply and is also suitable for damp rooms such as bathrooms. Osmo Spray Wax creates a protective surface that, after treatment, protects against all kinds of moisture such as coffee and wine. Spray Wax is available in four clear variants: Gloss, Satin, Semi-matt and Matt. The clear variants make bare sanded or untreated wood look as if it has been wetted.
Besides the clear variants, colour variants are also available: 3010 Natural, 3012 White Opaque Satin, 3050 White Opaque Matt, 3066 White Transparent, 3049 Black Opaque Matt.
Spray parameters
Spray gun: spray pressure approx. 3.0-3.5, nozzle approx. 1.3-2.0 mm
Airless/Airmix: material 80-120 bar pressure, Airmix control air approx. 1-2.5 bar, nozzle 0.28-0.33 mm.
HVLP spray gun: because of the many different types of machines, no parameter can be set here.
Osmo Spray Wax drying time
Dust-dry: dries in approx. 2-3 hours under normal conditions (at 23 °C/50% rel. humidity).
Dry for sanding: dry in approx. 6 to 8 hours under normal conditions (at 23 °C/50% rel. humidity).
Dry for use/foot traffic: dry in approx. 12 to 16 hours under normal conditions (at 23 °C/50% rel. humidity).
Instructions for use
1. The wood must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%). Osmo Spray Wax is ready to use and does not need to be thinned.
2. Stir the product well for 2 minutes. After opening the tin, the oil and wax are separated. Always test on the surface first to check that the result has the desired effect.
3. First coat: apply with a spray gun, airless/airmix or HVLP. The amount depends on the wood species and sanding grade, among other things. Apply about 35-40 g/m².
4. Ensure good ventilation during drying. If the wood feels rough after the first coat, it can be sanded.
- Dust-dry: dries in approx. 2-3 hours under normal conditions (at 23 °C/50% rel. humidity).
- Dry for sanding: dry in approx. 6 to 8 hours under normal conditions (at 23 °C/50% rel. humidity).
- Dry for use/foot traffic: dry in approx. 12 to 16 hours under normal conditions (at 23 °C/50% rel. humidity).
5. Second coat: apply in the same way as the first coat. Ventilate well for this coat too by opening doors and windows. Observe the drying times above.
